Hesperaloe is a desert plant native to northern Mexico. It contains fiber cells which are unusually long and thin, making it an attractive option for blending with other fibers to increase strength and softness. Production will occur in the Southwestern U.S. First harvest occurs 4 to 5 years following establishment, with subsequent harvests every 2 to 3 years. Yields are expected to be about 90 wet tons/acre.
