A landuse category including harvested cropland, land where crops have failed due to weather, insects, and diseases, and cultivated summer fallow. Cultivated summer fallow refers to cropland in sub-humid regions of the West cultivated for one or more seasons to control weeds and accumulate moisture before small grains are planted.
