Cogenerator

An energy plant that produces (cogenerates) both electrical and thermal energy. These systems are also known as combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Various technologies can be employed in cogeneration facilities. Cogeneration is more energy efficient than conventional systems where electricity is generated at a central power plant and on-site heating and cooling equipment is used to meet non-electric energy requirements.
