Lesquerella

Lesquerella species are native to North and South America, and most are also indigenous to the U.S. These species are of interest because of the high hydroxy fatty acid content of their oil, which has many potential industrial uses, including lubricants, plastics, protective coatings, surfactants, and cosmetics.  Imported castor oil is currently used in these applications.
