Urban biomass resources

Municipal solid waste (MSW) disposed of in landfills, including glass, plastic, paper, aluminum and other metal cans, yard clippings, wood, construction materials, household garbage and some commercial wastes such as paper, cafeteria food wastes, construction and demolition wastes, etc.  The wood component of MSW, either alone or combined with other organic components, can be recovered and used for bioenergy and bioproducts. Additional urban biomass resources include the gases produced by decay of organic materials in landfills, and biosolids generated in the wastewater treatment of sewage.
