Zero tillage
|
A type of conservation tillage in which the soil is left undisturbed from harvest to planting except for nutrient injection. Planting or drilling is accomplished in a narrow seedbed or slot, and weed control is accomplished primarily with herbicides. During harvest, at least 30 percent of the crop residue must be left on the field. Crops grown using zero tillage practices are also commonly referred to as no-till.
